DoorDash announced it is rolling out Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) payment support to nearly 2,700 Kroger stores, giving millions of recipients across the United States access to online grocery delivery.
The expansion includes grocery store brands Mariano’s, Fred Meyer, Ralphs, Harris Teeter and others under the grocery giant’s banner, according to DoorDash. SNAP customers can use the benefits to purchase eligible items, such as meat, produce, dairy, frozen foods, and other essentials on the DoorDash marketplace.
“Access to affordable food is fundamental,” Mike Goldblatt, vice president of Enterprise Partnerships at DoorDash, said in the news release. “This collaboration with Kroger marks an important step forward for SNAP access nationwide.”
As of the fourth quarter of 2025, more than 57,000 stores accept SNAP and EBT payments on the platform, and 4.5 million users have added their SNAP card to their accounts, according to the company.
A 2025 report from DoorDash showed that SNAP users on the platform were twice as likely to live in food deserts as non-SNAP users.
DoorDash added in the release that it is offering a $0 delivery fee on a user’s first purchase using an EBT payment at participating Kroger stores through June 15.
U.S. Department of Agriculture data showed that, on average, more than 42.1 million people in the United States used SNAP benefits monthly in fiscal year 2025.
