News Room

Krispy Kreme is bringing an iconic cartoon franchise to life in its latest doughnut collection.

The chain teamed up with Warner Bros. Discovery to release four Halloween-themed doughnuts featuring five Looney Tunes characters.

“Looney Tunes characters have entertained generations of fans with their fun, laughter and mischief, making them a perfect match for Krispy Kreme this Halloween,” Alison Holder, Krispy Kreme’s chief brand and product officer, said in a statement emailed to USA TODAY. “This collection captures that playful Looney Tunes spirit in a delicious way, with dozens made for sharing and making Halloween parties, gatherings and spooky season celebrations a little sweeter.”

The doughnuts became available Tuesday, Oct. 6. Krispy Kreme also announced a giveaway for two days at the end of the month.

What Are the Looney Tunes Doughnut Flavors?

Bugs Bunny, Tweety, Sylvester, the Tasmanian Devil (Taz) and Lola Bunny appear on sugar pieces dressed in Halloween outfits. Tweety and Sylvester share one doughnut, while Bugs, Lola and Taz each have their own design and flavor.

The four doughnuts include:

  • Bugs Bunny: An unglazed doughnut filled with chocolate dulce Kreme, topped with red dulce icing, chocolate drizzle and black bat sprinkles. Bugs is dressed as a vampire on a sugar piece in the center.
  • Lola Bunny: An Original Glazed doughnut topped with purple buttercream and gold star sprinkles. Lola appears on a sugar piece dressed as a witch.
  • Taz: An unglazed doughnut shell filled with Oreo Cookies and Kreme, dipped in chocolate, covered in Oreo pieces and finished with green icing drizzle. Taz is dressed as a mummy.
  • Tweety and Sylvester: A glazed doughnut dipped in candy-corn-flavored icing, with yellow, white and orange confetti sprinkles. Sylvester pokes out of a jack-o’-lantern as Tweety sits on top.

Where Can You Buy the Halloween Doughnuts?

The doughnuts are available for a limited time at participating Krispy Kreme locations, according to a company news release. Customers can buy them as a Looney Tunes Halloween Specialty Dozen, individually or with other doughnuts.

They may also be available at select retailers, including grocery stores such as Publix or Kroger, though assortments vary by location, according to Krispy Kreme’s website.

How Can You Get a Free Doughnut on Halloween?

Customers who visit a participating Krispy Kreme location in a Halloween costume on Friday, Oct. 30, or Saturday, Oct. 31, can get a free Original Glazed or Classic Ring Doughnut, with no purchase necessary. The offer does not include the Looney Tunes Halloween doughnuts.

How the Doughnuts Connect to the Looney Tunes Movie

Krispy Kreme introduced the collection just over a month after the latest Looney Tunes movie, “Coyote vs. Acme,” premiered in theaters in August. The film stars Wile E. Coyote, John Cena and Will Forte. In the movie, Wile E. Coyote sues the Acme Corporation after spending decades using its defective contraptions to try to catch the Road Runner.

The movie was completed years ago but was at risk of never reaching audiences after Warner Bros. shelved it in November 2023 as part of cost-cutting measures, according to USA TODAY’s previous reporting. The decision sparked public backlash, and many, including some of the actors, were devastated that it would not be released.

In 2025, Ketchup Entertainment acquired the film and eventually released it in theaters.
