Bed Bath & Beyond is opening two stores in Texas to expand its footprint, but under a different format.
The company announced on June 18 that it would roll out 22 new Bed Bath & Beyond + The Container Store combination locations across the country, including locations in Austin and Houston, Texas.
The store’s format will bring together home essentials, storage and organization, custom spaces and home services under one roof.
“This isn’t a retail experiment. It’s the beginning of a completely new model for home retail,” said Amy Sullivan, president of Bed Bath & Beyond, in a statement. “We’re bringing together two brands customers already know and trust and making them even stronger together. The same organization expertise customers have always loved from The Container Store now sits alongside the breadth, value and inspiration of Bed Bath & Beyond.”
The new stores come after The Container Store entered into a partnership in 2024 to offer Bed Bath & Beyond products in its stores, following Bed Bath & Beyond’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in 2023 and the closure of its in-person stores.
Also in 2023, Overstock.com purchased the brand’s intellectual property and launched a new website and mobile app. And in 2025, Bed Bath & Beyond acquired The Brand House Collective, formerly Kirkland’s, with some Kirkland’s locations becoming Bed Bath & Beyond stores.
The company also said it will expand Beyond Home Services to include cabinetry, flooring and installation, allowing customers to handle a project from design through installation in one place.
