Ford is recalling more than 11,000 pickup trucks over a rearview camera defect that could hinder a driver’s visibility while in reverse.

About 11,405 2026 Ford Rangers equipped with a 10.1-inch center stack screen are affected by the recall, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The issue could increase the risk of a crash, the NHTSA said in its announcement.

“The screen may lose power and fail to display the rearview camera image,” the NHTSA said in its recall notice.

“A rearview camera image that does not display reduces the driver’s view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash,” the notice reads.

No accidents or injuries have been reported in connection with the recall.

The remedy is currently under development, according to the NHTSA.

Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed out on Oct. 5.

Additional letters will be sent out to vehicle owners once the remedy is available.
